Sweetie was the most beautiful cat. She would bring me "stuff"-socks (clean or dirty!), dolls, towels, toys, anything she could pick up. She would fetch her toys like a dog does, whenever I threw them. She was so soft, black, & so loving. My heart has been broken since the day she passed away. I will never, ever, in my life, forget her. I would never want to.

It has been a short 30 hours since Ollie passed peacefully in his sleep. Our little ferret brought such fun and joy into our lives.

Ollie, I wish we could have been by your side when this happened. We apologize for not being there and know you understand. I know you are in a happy place looking down on us. We are blessed to have had you as a member of our family. We love you Ollie and will remember you forever.

Well, let's see, Jovan (pronounced Joe + Van) was my most and bestest friend ever. I had just gotten divorced and needed companionship and went to the humane society in Connecticut and just said to the woman, let me see whoever's number is up next. She took me to this cage where there was a mamma kitty and all her kids. I opened the cage and in the water bowl attached to the cage door was MY cat Jovan. Well, I scooped her outta the water bowl and off we went. She traveled the whole country with me. East Coast to West Coast to Midwest and back to West Coast over the 15 years of our being a team. We were always so thankful to have each other. When I first got her I was so broke from just being divorced that we would share cans of tuna fish. She would get all the luscious juice poured onto her dry food and I would get the tuna. I miss her so much these days. She got so sick so fast. When we took her to the vet they told us that her right kidney had stopped working and her left one had a tumor on/in it. Well, we gave her intravenous fluids and she responded to those quite nicely. She ate like a horse. Two weeks later she stopped eating and I took her to the vet to get her more fluids. She had lost a whole pound and was down to nearly 6 lbs. Not a good thing for such a sick girl. The vet promised they would let me know when it was time to put Jovan over the Rainbow and he told me. I took her home for 2 days and we spent our time together eating tuna again. My husband and I went back to the vet 2 days later and said our final goodbyes to Jovan. Now comes the healing of ourselves and missing her everyday. She is right next to Rudy and has been welcomed with open paws. I will always love ya missymae. Mommy.

Cattie was the sweetest out of my four cats. She never complained about anything. She got along with everyone for the most part. She was always friendly and polite, even for a cat. She loved to get under the covers and sleep. She loved to play with her sister, Stormie the most. When we first got Cattie, she seemed to fit right in to our household. She didn't have a problem with any of the other cats or the other animals in our home. I've had many cats over the years and each one has a distinct personality. Cattie was by far, the sweetest cat I have ever known. She brought love and light into our home and her presence will be greatly missed by all of us. We know she has found a warm place, right where the hot air blows from the heater, up in kitty heaven.

Our newest yellow Labrador Retriever here at Kimbrook was Kimberly's Rocket Shot. This smart-witted loving pup quickly took reign of our family's heart and soul. He became affectionately known as Boomer, Boom-Boom, Little Man and more often than not was referred to as Little Guy by our six year old son. However, as many of his pet names suggest Boomer was not little at all. In fact he was much larger than most of his litter mates and his front paws were huge. Even when he was a smaller pup his size and stature rivaled our adult girls. He was truly an outstanding progeny as he clumsily ran about our house as puppies do. After Kim and I drove 4 hours to pick Boomer up he instantly became spoiled. He reminded all of our other labs what it was to be a puppy again. I am almost certain he convinced our two cats that they were also part puppy. More importantly, he showed us what we were as humans. If you were happy, sad or just depressed the little guy's affection for you never swayed. He reminded you what laughing and smiling was all about and was always eager to please. Most of his days consisted of playfully attacking the labs and cats. He had many gestures and could almost talk to you with his quirky barks. On command he would sit and would speak for a treat almost like saying "momma please." He would bark anxiously while sitting on the bed because he was a bit afraid of his landings. This was understood as "momma please pick me up and put me down." When little man grew tired he always slept at or on our heads. He really enjoyed taking naps at Kim's feet while she worked at the computer also. Boomer had really never met anyone or anything he did not like but time. At seventeen weeks old the life of Boomer was brought to a crossroads and his life ended abruptly. The morning of February 22, 2001 at around 2:30 a.m. Boomer began experiencing signs of nausea, followed by repeated episodes of dry heaving. Ultimately, this produced bloat and massive abdominal distention. Kim noticed a sudden change in the little guy's behavior and this prompted her and my step-mother to rush him to a distant after hours emergency vet specialty clinic. One hour later we received the devastating news that our little guy would probably not live much longer. He had been struck with a condition common to the large breed canine known as Gastric Dilation Volvulus or GDV and Torsion/Bloat. This dire emergency condition literally inverts the stomach causing the esophagus to twist which causes cardiovascular compromise/shock, excessive gas entrapment and the restriction in the blood flow kills vital organs and tissue. All producing a very painful and often fatal result. His condition rapidly deteriorated and placed him into cardiac shock. The attending veterinarian consulted a specialist over the phone and surgical intervention was quoted at $3000-$4500. This costly procedure alone would probably take the pup's young, vivacious life. Future prognosis was slated as dismal due to the fact of future re-occurrences and his cardiovascular system would more than likely be impaired to one degree or another. The painful decision was made to put Boomer to sleep with euthanasia. Our little man's journey was re-directed to a better place than even the easy, love filled life we showed and shared with him. If indeed there is no heaven for our little man, we all have a place deep in our hearts and our souls that he can run forever free. The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long. Goodbye Boomer, you are missed and we love you! Mom, Dad, Josh, Aaron and your best pet friends Autumn, Tallulah, Jack, Heidi and Brandy.

Face was a truly unique and special cat. He was strong, curious and interested in life all his life. He survived being shot and becoming deaf with the same love of us, his companion cats and himself that he had before his traumas. He gave us four more weeks than they told us he could when his cancer was diagnosed and when he was too tired and wanted to be with the "girls" he told us that too. He filled all the roles from top cat to pal to baby boy. He will live in this house and our hearts forever. He was the best and will be missed so very much. Sandy, Judy Mongo and Katy.

Tigger was my first pet. I remember her wandering around our neighborhood shortly after we moved into our house. My dad and I would secretly feed her since my Mom did not want a pet. After a week of feeding her barbeque turkey and milk, Mom finally gave in and Tigger became the ruler of the house. We were overprotective parents that would never let her outside, but she managed to find a way out a couple of times. During the summer of 1995, Tigger was diagnosed with renal failure. She was given 6-months to 1 year to live. Thanks to the loving care of my Mother with changing her to a special diet and giving her fresh water everyday, we were able to keep her for an additional 6 loving years. Tigger was full of love and fire, and we will miss her. Tigger will always be in our hearts and minds forever. It was finally her time to go to a better place and end her suffering. I wish I could hold on to her one more time. We love you and miss you Tigger. Much love, Robin, Dave, Trouble, Mom, Dad and the Fish. Charlie next door misses you too!!

Ryan loved dog shows, was a supreme showoff, and always knew when he won. He was a joy to live with as he woke up wearing rose-colored glasses. Ryan was the most elegant fawn Great Dane and he picked me when I would sit inside his whelping box. He lived to be almost 11. We loved each other without limits. I look forward to being with Ryan again as I know he waits for me with his cheerful attitude.

He loved to catch snow flakes out in his yard. Although Tyler was natural eared, he still had the elegant look. He was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer the day after his 6th birthday. He awaits me I know.

Chrissie was a black Great Dane who I took in as a rescue dog when her owner suddenly died. This trauma made Chrissie insecure about being left alone, so for several years I had to take her to work everyday. Because of this, I gave up on placing her in another home. She was a very kind girl yet would attack on command by gently grabbing a person's arm and just holding on. I never locked a door while Chrissie was with me. She instinctively knew how to protect but was never vicious. Chrissie's favorite past time was laying upside down on the sofa and getting me to do a tummy rub. If I would quit, she would move my hand with her leg to make you keep up the rubbing. Chrissie lived to be over 13 and joined her best dog friend, CH Regal Air's Ryan on the Rainbow Bridge. I know Chrissie and all my dogs will be together someday. I just hope my life will get me into the same realm into which they are living, so I try to be a good person.

Bismarque was my first Great Dane, a fawn male. Bis was a very intelligent and loving dog but had over-protective tendencies. Thus, we went into obedience training where Bis gained confidence and became much less aggressive. He earned his CD Degree in AKC dog shows in three consecutive shows with very high scores: 195,193,195. Shortly after his 2nd birthday, Bismarque suddenly bloated and despite vet care he died several hours later. I was devastated as Bis was like one of my children and we had done so much together. I learned a lot about Great Danes from Bis however and continued on with the breed for another 25+ years because of him. I hope to see Bis again as I know I will. I still miss him and his supreme intelligence and willingness to please me. We were always a team.
